Meet Casey Walsh

Casey Walsh

Assistant Project Manager

Starting with the company as a project coordinator, then to project coordinator II, to her current role as assistant project manager, Casey Walsh started with Transcon Environmental (now our environmental division) in September 2022. A graduate of the University of Tampa with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in environmental science, Casey entered the workforce as an IT recruiter – something didn’t prefer but an opportunity that really honed in her interpersonal skills.

Following that role, she worked as an environmental scientist conducting fieldwork, before moving into doing permitting for the State of Florida, along with stints in industrial wastewater, potable wastewater, domestic wastewater, and environmental resource permitting. All these opportunities helped her with roles at Eocene and gave her the tools to do well in her role.

When asked what excited her about joining the Eocene team, Casey says, “I had grown up and lived in Florida my whole life. In 2022, I decided I wanted to travel and explore the West. I just so happened to come across a position here, and after chatting with a leader at the company, the rest is history! The opportunity to have a hybrid role where I could work remotely and get to go onsite was perfect. This position includes knowing about multiple different resources such as biology, cultural, paleo and hydrology so there is always something to learn or someone on your team that knows about that topic that you can utilize. I love that my job is so niche, and love to explain it to people when they ask what I do.”

Now that she works in this industry, she can’t think of anything else she’d rather do. “I really love working on large energy infrastructure projects because they typically go for a few years and it is super satisfying to work on them from start to finish. No two days are the same which keeps things exciting. Getting to go on-site and just seeing the sheer size of these projects is also incredible to be a part of.”

She loves the travel component of going on-site to different areas. From Wyoming to Arizona to New Mexico, she has the chance to see very different parts of the world that she may not have ever seen without her role at Eocene. “Not only are the co-workers full of knowledge, getting to work with all the agencies and hear the knowledge that they and their resource specialists can share is super beneficial to getting a better understanding of how the project functions.”

“Casey’s punctuality and organization are truly remarkable – she’s so consistently on top of things that it never fails to impress me,” says Casey’s manager. “Working alongside her has afforded me the rare opportunity to slow down and trust that I have the right person in place to keep our projects and me on track. Her resourcefulness, creativity and strong problem-solving skills make her a go-to person for tackling challenges efficiently and with fresh ideas. Casey’s unwavering dedication to excellence is sure to propel her toward remarkable achievements in her career.”

When asked what excites her about the company and the future, she said, “I think one of the most exciting things recently is when I got to go to our company-wide Leadership Academy this year. It was super exciting to get a chance to meet with people from all the different divisions to really see where the future of the company is headed. It was so refreshing to meet people who all have similar goals, ethics and hobbies – it created an instant connection which is how I feel about a lot of my colleagues.”
