Social Responsibility

Eocene Environmental Group Is Committed to Fostering Positive Change in the Communities We Serve.

Two Eocene workers walk through a garden. One carries two large green buckets at her sides.

Eocene Environmental Group believes in giving back to the communities we serve and the environment we all share. We are only as successful as the communities we partner with, which is why we prioritize community involvement, volunteerism and sustainability for our team. As a company in the environmental services industry, we strive to reduce our environmental footprint and adopt eco-friendly practices, advocating for a greener future.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report is our way of showcasing how we’re delivering the highest level of professional, safe and environmentally conscious services and solutions to the industries, the public and the communities we work and live in.

To support the causes that matter the most to our employees, Eocene offers Volunteer Time Off (VTO) as a part of our comprehensive benefits package. We believe volunteering not only makes a positive impact on the community but also strengthens our team’s sense of purpose by making a meaningful impact outside the workplace.

Tour des Trees

Tour des Trees is an annual long-distance cycling adventure that serves as the primary public outreach and community engagement event for the Tree Research and Education Endowment (TREE) Fund. Since 2017, we have had team members travel around the U.S. in support of this event, volunteering as well as participating in the ride.

TREE Fund research has produced better ways to plant and care for urban trees, making them more resilient, more resistant to pests and less prone to failure. The tour also supports education programs aimed at connecting young people with the environment and career opportunities in green industries.

Arbor Day Tree Planting

Eocene employees support Arbor Day each year by using volunteer hours to plant trees and educate about the importance of sustainably protecting and caring for our planet’s natural resources. As a company, we make an annual donation to support the Arbor Day Foundation’s annual initiative. We have also used the holiday season as a way to further support the foundation, making donations for forest tree planting in honor of our clients.

Iowa Gardening for Good

Iowa Gardening for Good is dedicated to involving the community in growing produce for a good cause. Our team has participated in various projects, including harvesting and packaging 150,000 pounds of butternut squash and 50 boxes of pepper to donate to local food pantries.

Unite Environmental Camp

Our team leads a full-day outdoor education experience at Unite Environmental Camp in Shasta County, California. We take students on a nature hike where we emphasize many of the benefits and uses of trees and their ecology, teaching them traditional forestry measurement techniques. Through presentations and nature-based scavenger hunts, our team teaches the importance of tree conservation while fostering an appreciation and understanding of the natural world. To date, more than 1,000 Shasta County kids have participated in our forestry activities.
