Carrie received her bachelor’s degree in life sciences from Indiana State University and a master’s degree in ecology from the University of Alberta. Following her master’s degree studies, Carrie went on to earn her doctorate in zoology from the University of Pretoria in South Africa, pursuing her childhood dream of studying African elephants for three years.
A career path in agriculture and data sciences began during her postdoctoral program in Oregon where Carrie collaborated with the U.S. Forest Service to create a dynamic habitat selection model for cattle on public land. She has since spent recent years managing data repositories for the University of Idaho and the National Corn Growers Association. In her free time, Carrie enjoys camping, traveling and spending time with her family.
