Meet Courtney Titus

Courtney Titus

Technical Services Manager

The disconnect between the economy and the environment ultimately was the thing that brought Courtney Titus to the sustainability industry.

Courtney philosophizes, “It’s a common misconception that the economy cannot thrive while catering to the environmental strategies, however, when the environment thrives, the economy thrives. I wanted to help bridge that gap between the two and prove the profitability of a sustainable operation. And now, we have the tools at Eocene Environmental Group to be able to showcase those financial incentives of regenerative agriculture practices and provide a resource for producers to showcase this themselves.”

Courtney graduated from Iowa State University where she studied agriculture economics and environmental studies and later obtained her master’s in agricultural economics. Joining the Sustainable Environmental Consultants team, now our sustainability division, straight after graduation in 2021 as a data specialist, she was able to gain true industry experience. Courtney was drawn to the company for its farmer-founded roots, which assured her that she’d be working for the producer – not against.

“My career goal was to always show environmental and economic sustainability go hand-in-hand.” Eocene gives Courtney a direct path to showcase that at the supply chain and farm level.

A member of the technical services team, their main role is to provide environmental metric scoring, identify opportunities and recommendations for improvement, and facilitate on-farm or virtual technical assistance for clients and farms. Courtney has seen how far the company has come with sustainability reporting and how quickly new science, concepts and technology are being developed that they’re able to implement into services.

“I get to work with producers and learn something new every day through conversations with livestock producers, row crop producers, and specialty crop producers,” says Courtney. “Being a trusted resource for producers in the sustainability space is an extremely rewarding career.”
