Meet Jeff Davis

Jeff Davis

Vice President, Business Development

Possessing the longest tenure of all employees within our environmental division, previously Transcon Environmental, vice president of business development Jeff Davis helped build the company from the ground up, including establishing client bases, setting the standards for quality, developing resource programs processes, and establishing the company’s culture of being problem solvers and service-centered.

Jeff has always had a love for the outdoors and nature, but what really drew him to the company was the opportunity to have a variety of experiences to grow quickly in his career. “I enjoyed the exposure to a variety of services and industries,” says Jeff. “I loved the steep learning curve and diversity of things that I was able to participate in. I appreciated a culture that prized integrity, service, innovation, creativity and the opportunity for growth. I’m also drawn to the practical application of problem solving on real world projects, building relationships and collaborations, and participating on projects that reduce impacts to the natural environment and are beneficial to communities.”

A conservation biology graduate from Brigham Young University with a master’s degree in landscape architecture and environmental planning from Utah State University, Jeff spent four years working for the U.S. Forest Service as a range technician and visual resource specialist. His undergraduate and postgraduate degrees complemented each other well – conservation biology taught him how to promote sustainable use of biological resources and develop practical approaches to the complex problems threatening our world, and landscape architecture and environmental planning taught him principles of design, creativity and planning. “All of this led me to my career, which has largely allowed me to incorporate all the things I have studied and enjoy,” says Jeff.

Jeff joined the company in 1999 and worked on a variety of projects both large and small providing biological, visual resource, citing and planning, permitting, NEPA, mapping, project coordination, and project management. Jeff recalls, “I was always involved in developing markets and clients and growing the company.”

Jeff has developed and led a highly successful and celebrated environmental compliance program. Participating in some of the most important and largest scale utility projects in the U.S., including the permitting, construction and reclamation of thousands of miles of transmission, pipeline and telecommunication projects, these projects have been part of larger effort to reduce carbon emissions, provide national security, strengthen reliability, and enhance communities throughout the country. He has designed and spearheaded the use of creative and innovative technologies to facilitate communications, data collection, and management for these large, complex projects.

When asked what his favorite part of the job is, he says, “I love the idea of collaborating with the various divisions and tapping into our deeper pool of resource experts that will allow us to provide greater service to clients and increase the opportunity to grow our company into new opportunities, geographic regions, services and industry sectors.”

Jeff also enjoys working in a collaboration of talented people to help clients have successful projects. “I like the feeling of making a difference and bring our clients projects to fruition. The things that excite me are the relationships that we forge through being part of a team working for the common goal of serving our clients and communities which look to us for help.”
