Sean Flynn
Archaeologist
Sean Flynn started his career in 2014 and has worked across the U.S., including Alaska, Montana, Arizona, Utah, California, Nevada, and Idaho. He joined the Transcon Environmental team (now our environmental division) in 2020 as an archaeologist, a position he still proudly holds today – except now as the lead for our Southwest region.
“My goal has always been to lead crews in a safe and efficient manner as we traverse any terrain or encounter any obstacles,” says Sean. “My favorite part of my job is exploring new project areas, experiencing new landscapes, seeing wildlife, and protecting cultural resources.”
Sean’s manager shares that she’s grateful that Sean is on her team. “Sean has a wealth of knowledge regarding Southwest archaeology which he uses to teach our up-and-coming archaeologists and to grow the Southwest archaeological program. He is patient and ensures we are providing quality work to our clients on every project. He is reliable and always willing to help a team member.”
The life of an archaeologist is rarely boring, and the days are never the same – take it from Sean. Once, while working in Yellowstone, Sean sang to a moose and it sang back to him, believe it or not. He’s also been charged by a bison while trying to scare a grizzly bear away from his patrol cabin.
When Sean’s not working (or singing to a moose … or being chased by bison), you can find him playing the guitar.
